What's New?

Portgordon Village Hall Following an option appraisal associated with the refurbishment of its existing run down hall, the Portgordon Village Hall Committee decided to consider replacing its hall with a new building next to the harbour.  This ground is owned by the Crown Estate, who has already expressed willingness to kindly support the development without charge to the community.  The Village Hall Committee therefore carried out a questionnaire survey of all households in the village to consider this option, which resulted in a 78% vote in favour (from the 36% return.) - Location and Site Plan  (PDF 4 MB) - Elevations (PDF 4 MB) - Existing site levels (PDF 772 KB) - Floor Plan (PDF 638 KB) Portgordon Village Hall  (published 07-12-10) Portgordon Village Hall Committee has secured external funding from The Big Lottery and EU LEADER to conduct a full feasibility investigation during 2011 into the refurbishment and modernisation of the Village Hall.  The Hall was handed over to the local community at the beginning of the 20th century, and despite being added to in the mid-to-late 20th century, is outdated and suffering from lack of investment.  The Committee is therefore working with the Portgordon community and local firm NB Planning to try and determine current and future needs, as well as identify options for change. The Youth Voice

The Youth Voice enables young people aged 12-25 to discuss common concerns and ways of improving the quality of life in their area.

It is supported by the Local Community and Learning Development Worker (Youth) and provides representatives to the Moray-wide Youth Council.
